Sun Life Direct
Sun Life Direct is a part of the AXA group of companies. AXA Sun Life plc trading as Sun Life specialises in life insurance for the over 50's. It guarantees cover to people aged between 50 and 85 through the Sun Life Guaranteed over 50 Plan.
The Sun Life Guaranteed over 50 Plan pays out a lump sum on death. To qualify for the lump sum, you need to have paid premiums for a minimum of two years. However, if you die before the end of the two year period, all your premiums plus an extra 50% will be refunded. There is a £20,000 limit to cover, and premiums are fixed for the life of the policy.
The Sun Life 50 Plan offers a number of additional benefits, such as triple travel accidental death benefit, and free payment for the first month. With accidental death benefit you would receive three times your lump sum if you died because of a travel accident.
The Sun Life Funeral Plan provides valuable financial and practical advice to the Insured person’s dependants in the event of death. Applicants must be aged 50 to 80. To benefit from a lump sum you need pay into the Sun Life Funeral Plan for at least two years. The death benefit is paid direct to Co-operative Funeralcare who deal with all funeral arrangements. This includes dealing with doctors, the crematorium and other official bodies, as well as offering confidential advice and support.
